Summary:
Rosie is still upset that she let her fame mongering overcome her racism, and Welkin is upset that he is caught in a love triangle between Faldio and Alicia. Alicia is totally out of it while on inventory duty, and you can just tell that Squad 7 is going to end up with 90 left boots and 45 right boots. Isara decides to cheer Welkin up since he’s her only family and somehow this turns into a pseudo-date with Ramal. I still hate that kid, but he’s got the most game out of everyone in this series so far.
We briefly learn that Imperial forces will be looking to end the war quickly after losing Fouzen, and then it’s back to the dorama. Largo ends up pulling Welkin aside into a sweet bath tent to tell him a story of how Largo loved Eleanor but then backed off when he learned his best buddy liked Eleanor, too. After the nameless buddy got killed, things became all awkward between Largo and Eleanor, and Largo doesn’t want that for Welkin. Unfortunately, when Alicia bursts in to confront Welkin, he stupidly tells Alicia she is his precious friend, and then mentions Faldio’s name to make things super awkward.
Reaction:
That moment with Maximilian finding Selvaria in the royal blue rose garden made it seem like Maximilian just grew himself a Valkyrur! This episode was kinda boring, because little Welkin is still a recruit. In fact, it’s likely that he hasn’t ever been in a combat situation. The emo was pretty sweet, especially since Alicia is the love of two higher officers. I want an episode where Edy and Susie complain about Alicia being a slut and getting all the screen time for herself. Seriously, how can anyone think that Marina dumping water on Alicia was a coincidence?
Isara was showing some impressive perception, picking up bread from the market because that skanky Alicia cannot be trusted. Isara played it pretty coy with Ramal, and scored a ride and a servant to carry all her bags. As for Welkin, he came across as a total dope these last few episodes. And what the heck was he reading during the conference?! I’m also not sure what to think about the whole Largo x Eleanor situation, other than to say that this is exactly what happened in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. You’d think that Welkin would just go beat up Faldio and then drag Alicia back to his room, because that’s how it happens in the wild. Aren’t there some Horny Toads that Welkin can emulate?
