To Aru Kagaku no Railgun – 01: The Greatest Railgun There Ever Was and the Kuroko Who Loved Her

She is so kinky…
So right now I am stuck behind the Great Firewall of a certain socialist government and it remains to be seen whether a Railguns and yuri are acceptable to communist theory and theories on market socialism. I know for certain that not everything here works the way it should, but whatever jet lag is kicking my ass anyways. In any case as a member of the Imperial Navy, though sadly not part of the famed 501st Legion, I am obliged as sailor to be positively in love with railguns, and by extension Biribiri. It was pretty nice for an intro episode with the four principle girls being introduced and much is made known of Kuroko’s love of her one-sama Mikoto. I just hope that they end up happier than Liang Qi and Alphard onee-sama. At any rate Mikoto has mastery of electricity and can make instant railguns out of coins, and Kuroko can teleport. The former has no abilities that really enhance her day to day life, but the same does not apply at all to the latter.
Biribiri is made of seven kinds of win and hawtness, but I cannot help but admire and cheer for Kuroko as she tries to make her onee-sama know that HER LOVE WILL NEVER DIE. Saten-san is my kind of bold, but I am not terribly sure what to make of Uihara. Action wise it was pretty good though I was hoping that Kuroko would not only be dodging effortlessly but also be capable of Alphard’s defensive feats and do some sweet reversals. Ah well with a little more polish I guess Kuroko can become as skilled as Alphard and about 10% as crazy as Liang Qi. I just can’t help but love Kuroko for making the most of her teleportation powers to further her skinship with her onee-sama, and as they say if at first you don’t succeed try, try, and try again!
All in all Railgun seems to be living up to expectations, and I eagerly look forward to more.
Calawain’s Admiration of Railguns
One of those shows I was looking forward to the most this season and it didn’t disappoint. Biribiri was definitely my favorite character from Index, with her tomboyish brand of tsundere and electricity. As superpowers go, I think most people would agree that lightning/electricity is wicked cool (and another electricity superpower comes next week with Darker Than Black, interestingly enough). I was glad we got to see some action right off the bat, and was pleasantly surprised at how much they showed Kurko kicking ass.
Oh yeah, and then there was naked shower groping, and glomping in a restaurant. The yuri action was the other half of the reason I am watching this show. The two other protagonists got some exposure, with the skirt flipping Ruiko my preferred of the pair so far. I don’t really care for the meek types like Kazari. That being said, the production values were decent, about the same as Index was some months ago. The voice work was solid, Rina Sato is quite delicious as Biribiri. Definitely a watch for this season.
