Strike Witches 2 begins

Oh shi–
Mmmm, more pantsuless witches.
First season was a surprise hit for me despite the odds and judging from the premiere, SW2 looks set to equal or better it’s predecessor in terms of pure action, although whether it will keep to the light-heartedness of the first season remains to be seen. At least, along with the change of production studios to AIC, there is a noticeable upgrade of production quality as well.
Generally though, the first episode was pretty light in content, basically serving to reintroduce everyone to the situation of the 501st Strike Witches, the new impending Neuroi threat and Yoshika generally healing injured animals that seem to lie around pretty commonly wherever she lives (like a bear, lol). Pretty light on content but it does show that AIC’s team ‘gets’ what Strike Witches is about and knows what to enhance without detracting from it’s original too much.
Ah, maybe I am too optimistic about the show, but so far, I’m hoping it’ll be an enjoyable ride till the end. Look at Nanoha, A’s was easily the best of the trilogy!
P.S. Semi-finals for ABT are ongoing now, please vote for me who has miraculously reached this far!
