Man, I’m smitten already with Nanasaki. While not as stimulating as Haruka’s arc, it’s still exciting enough while at the same time as charming as Sae’s arc was. Of course, Nanasaki’s wildly different from the aforementioned two, coming across as a very self-confident person, not above to working hard for her goals.

Of course, there’s always that little teasing side of her…

Yukana positively sizzles portraying Nanasaki with the right blend of sexiness.

I quite like the Nanasaki’s ED, the lyrics really describe her awakening romance with Junichi. But why the inclusion of so many Engrish still leaves me baffled.

The official website for the Amagami SS romance anime series has confirmed on Friday that the anime’s 13th Blu-ray Disc/DVD volume will contain the story arcs for the Risa Kamizaki and Miya Tachibana characters from Enterbrain’s original Amagami game.

Oh look! It’s another nostalgia piece from Love Hina! Remember that crazy demonic sword Motoko had? Looks like Tsukuyomi took it.

And it sure lives up to it’s name here in Negima! Tsukuyomi looks positively menacing there. Looks like we’re going to have to wait for two more weeks before we see the fight begin. Sigh.

Speaking of which, is that Motoko or Tsuruko instructing Setsuna in the flashback? I would like to think it’s Motoko, who has inherited the Shinmeiryuu dojo from Tsuruko.

On another side…

Kotarou gets a pretty sweet chance to end Fate’s life.

But…..

He’s protected by plot armor unfortunately.

First, we have the stalker trio, doing as they do best; creeping the hell out of poor Satou-kun. Hell, their jealousy is so scary it even makes them forget about decency!

I hope she’s not going to go commando from now on.

Then we have Miyashita, the tomboy in Sugisaki’s little clique, trying a biiiiiit too hard to be friends with Hitoha…

No wonder she’s anti-social, if all she attracts are weirdos like the exorcist girl and groper Miyashita to be her friends.

Surprisingly, this episode, Yabecchi actually gets a few voiced lines and even a segment of his own! But I think he can’t fight the rising tide of the kids being kids though. Which is better at making me laugh anyways. Not to say much, but gets bossed around a little too easily.

Kicking off directly after the ending of the last episode… Sae makes a somewhat obvious confession towards Junichi.

Not like she probably had much contact with guys previously.

Anyways, the newly formed couple decide to gorge on sweets to commemorate their upgraded relationship. Makes more sense than practicing parfait eating to win a Best Couple contest anyways.

“Wow” indeed.

So skipping to the Best Couple contest, our lovebirds unfortunately encounter a deadly combination…

And she’s actually right!! Hurr durr.

I guess if Morishima didn’t get taken by Junichi, she’ll be a dyke instead.

On the other hand….

I don’t know if Umehara’s being serious or just fooling around. Either way, he’s being extremely gross with that.

So anyways, the contest predictably goes by a landslide to Morishima x Hibiki, but luckily for our new love birds, they came right behind them. Thus earning themselves a nice private viewing box at the cinema for a movie. Why do I feel this was a better prize than the first prize of a dinner for two at a local restaurant?

Of course, striking while the iron’s hot, our lovebirds watch the movie immediately the next day (Christmas).

So… is Sae and Junichi going to venture in to the world of film-making?

Nah, maybe for family videos. In any case, I can see their children squirming 20 years later when they take those tapes out and show it to their friends when they come over.

Sae’s arc has been a rather nice change of pace for the show and infinitely much more entertaining than Kaoru’s arc. For a while there I had bleak thoughts of the show running out of steam after Haruka’s arc, but thankfully Sae’s arc changed all that.

Well, she’s definitely not going to be everyone’s favourite, but even despite the squeeky helium voice, it’s hard to find a reason to hate Sae for all her quirks and mannerisms. And she’s actually pretty bold, considering everything. Especially in “attacking” Junichi.

Following up is Nanasaki’s arc, hopefully providing a nice tsundere angle to the show. Well, not exactly, but she looks pretty much the epitome of a cool beauty. In some ways too, I think she’s actually the spiritual sister of Morishima’s Hibiki as well. Will be interesting to see how Junichi “tackles” her. Heh heh.

So uh, anyways, picking back after two weeks (damn the holidays and Recettear), Junichi is still confused about Sae’s statement of not wanting to be his younger sister when Morishima pops up with the most likely answers…

No… I don’t think that’s quite right there, Morishima-senpai. Nevertheless, good attempt at trying to get through Junichi’s thick numbskull.

I just put this up because she looks so cute with that sandwich in her mouth.

And so, Sae invites Junichi out for a date to thank him for everything. Guess where they head to?

Sae has surprisingly boyish choices despite how she looks and acts.

And she’s… quite in to it, even.

This scene was so d’aaawww, if only for the fact that she was trying pretty hard to get Junichi to upgrade his feelings for her to “romance” from “fatherly”.

Well, one more episode to go, and luckily, it’s already out!

Preview was so lol, kinda evoked memories of Minami-ke’s meta-show, Sensei and Ninomiya-kun. Also HNNNNNNNNNNNGHHH THAT BLACK FRILLY EVENING DRESS.

Yes, I admit I’ve been lacking a bit in covering Negima for a while now. Forgive me as work and other commitments took their toll. Plus I didn’t really find anything noteworthy to say about the last few chapters. Well, Negi’s lightning staff move was admittedly impressive, but it’s almost expected of him already now.

This chapter is, thankfully, showcases him in a more human side as even he can’t fight a last-boss type and guard a whole gang of defenseless school girls. Good to see Akamatsu lampshading that trope and making the girls not that defenseless. Of course, girl on girl fights are always better. Poor Negi would be too much of a gentleman to actually go all-out against those girls. Best to leave it the ones who will .

One thing I wanted to mention though, is the chapter 300 Love Hina commemoration special. It was…. rather disappointing once I got to read it. I was hoping for a bit of a revisit on how the characters are faring a few years later on from the series ending, but it seems like Akamatsu took the easy way out and pulled an unused draft out from those days and recolored it for the occasion. Oh well… not really much you can complain about it .

I guess next week, we’ll see another really psycho yuri-tastic fight between Setsuna and Tsukuyomi while interspersing with Negi’s fight against Dynames.

Uh oh, Shichika’s manly charms have.. uh, manifested itself.

Man, this episode was highly worth it to see Togame going over the top jealous when Shichika gets too close to their next opponent, Kiguchi Zanki. Itou Shizuka serves as a fine choice as their newest opponent, well-known for being upright and honest. Reminds me of a certain pink-haired student council president too. Lucky for her fans all round, she survives this time.

Another missing preview this time though, apparently it was too much spoiler-ish to be put in. Got a link to it somewhere, I wonder?

On a sidenote, I can’t believe the Maniwani’s are still players in the whole scheme of things. Well, I did feel it was pretty damn unfair when Emonzaemon pulled those guns on her. “Most deviant blade of the Deviant Blades”? Houou sure hasn’t really known everything yet. Hurr.

Oh, and lack of Hitei-hime was rather disappointing.

I’m just busy helping a little girl from having to live with only two internal organs by selling overpriced wooden bows to pensioners (it’s the “in” thing right now!), candies to little girls, swords and armor to budding adventurers and recipe ingredients to housewives.

No, I’m pretty sure you’ll be dead with only two organs, Recette.

It’s seriously addictive and Recettear is worth all the 20 USD I paid for it from Steam. Capitalism, ho!

Of course, if you’re in to socialism, it’s okay to do so, but if you really like this game, and maybe hope to see more like this, SUPPORT THE INDUSTRY! Or wait till the Steam weekend promotions, which I’ll certainly highlight here.
