Biggest Non-Mecha Fight of the Season.
As PA Works second major project (after the much loved True Tears) it certainly has gone off with a mighty bang, it looks like they came to play. It seems that PA Works can also do action sequences in addition to animating festivals. I am not sure of what exactly is going on (probably has something to do with a drug that can create artificial synthesists), but the action is all there and I suppose that is what most people will be watching it for. I like how despite the over the top the gun fu is that they take the time to animate a magazine change. Even if this isn’t billed as yuri there is enough female bonding and female arch-rivalry to make it seems as though yuri is oozing out periodically. One thing I want to mention though is how they treated their dystopia, it looks like a decent enough place to live but the willful ignorance of the populace to all the killing and bodies speaks just as powerfully if not more so than a physical waste land. My only complaint is that Canaan was using a semi-automatic sniper rifle, though in all fairness it’s really a matter of personal taste in weaponry. Still this shit was AWESOME.
