Working!! 09

When an episode kicks off with a line like that, you know it will either be a massive facepalm-worthy flop or an epic win episode.
So we find out the reason for Inami’s manphobia….

… her father. Talk about ironic.

Oh god, what an epic line. (Note: that’s Inami’s father)

And we find out why Inami hits men when she’s near them too… thanks a lot, Mr. Inami! Also, LOL IRONY.

Oh god, so fucking wrong when taken out of context. I mean, it sure translates roughly to that but…..

Yamada is the best supporting character of Working!!

Yeah… that would make things a lot easier for Takanashi
And finally, for the epic win……

TAKANASHI-KUN ACTUALLY CROSSDRESSED!!!

And Inami feels that pain that all flat-chested women watching Working!! are feeling right now as well…..

Female Takanashi has been officially christened as Lulu-ko Kotori-chan!

Even Kyoko-san is surprised. And I thought nothing aside from food would unnerve her.

LOL role reversal time! Poplar going GA-GA over Kotori-chan was surely karma of the highest degree.

Isn’t that sad, Takanashi-kun? Or should I say, Kotori-chan?

I still think his original hair color would suit him more than the wig’s color…

Even if his exterior’s female, Takanashi’s still a man inside. Good job admonishing Inami’s one hell of an overprotective parent.

And his efforts are not lost on Inami-chan. Oh man she’s totally fallen for him now. Will true love surpass her male phobia though?

Aw Takanashi, you natsuru! She’s just too embarrassed to know how to react to you now!
Oh man, this was pretty much the best episode of Working!! so far with Kotori-chan appearing and the solidification of Souta x Inami as well. Truly epic from the get-go and lasting all the way till the end, this will probably be an episode of Working!! that will be memorable long after the show ends.
The best part is probably the reactions of all involved. Yamada is surprisingly well-equipped and she sure has great timing as well. Satou’s reaction when Yachiyo mentioned that she could pretend to be Takanashi was win too. Even Kyoko was so surprised she spit out her sundae, something I sure didn’t expect from her.
Inami’s cuteness meter sure blew the top this week as well. I mean who could resist those cute puppy-dog eyes!

… even if she was asking you to do something extremely embarrassing. And after this, she’s so totally belonging to Takanashi, although whether he will reciprocate remains to be seen.
Next week promises Nazuna… and the title hints at something interesting. Can’t wait.
Omake: The anatomy of Kotori-chan.

Hurr…. Souta sure is perfect for this.

Ichiban Random Plot Twist

……. what?! Huh? So Keena is some sort of holy maiden girl or something that can interface with the Gods or whatever?!

………. whaaaaat?! So Gods = Souls that have achieved Instrumentality or something?

Uh… okay?

….. oooooooooooooooooh kaaaaaaaaaaaay….

Hurr durr raging mad Akuto is raging mad. Even his clothes burned off. Pretty fucking ridiculous that he has instant body part regen as well too.
Wow. What the fuck was that? That was some totally bullshit magickal-babble about Gods there and the Yamato Bouichiro guy finally gets introduced as some sort of fanatical do-gooder who wants to “free the Gods” or whatsoever, who are all ドM beings of some sort.
Fuck, I am pretty fucking lost now.
Oh well, who cares anyways, Akuto will make it up with his badass. Too bad he’s so natsuru sometimes. Poor Junko. Sai Akuto, the Demon King of Misunderstandings and Denseness. Derp.

Kanade!!!

So serious, even Shiina asked questions.
So um, basically the first time for the series that a cliffhanger ending didn’t lead to an anti-climatic lead-in the next episode.
In many ways, this was a pretty disappointing episode. Otonashi’s death memories are fleshed out more and as much as they -tried- to make it touching/sad/whatever, it just felt like a really contrived ad for organ donation at the end of it. I mean… if he died immediately in the train crash, I’d be more understanding of his feelings of regret, but he and a bunch of survivors actually managed to live for a week, trapped in the tunnel, IN MODERN JAPAN? Kinda ridiculous.

Sign up to be a donor today! Make your life a meaningful one!
If you think about it, would it be possible for the authorities, especially the TRAIN COMPANIES in Japan to not notice a train missing for so long and then taking nearly a week to excavate them out? Sounds really unlikely in Japan. Not to mention the awesome timing of the rescuers to reach them right after Otonashi breathed his last? Hurr.
Heck, they even hinted that he didn’t even know exactly what his little sister’s sickness was. And then he only realized with his dying breath in the tunnel? Man, felt utterly contrived.
Oh well, it was made up by Kanade acting really cute this week. She is totally an awkward person, to have escalated the conflict between herself and the SSS members for the purpose of letting them have an enjoyable youth.

Oh man, you had us all worried!

D’aaaawwww
And now, Otonashi’s turned from the pretentious goody-two-shoes to the two-faced betrayer, hell-bent on making everyone disappear. Feels really awkward in terms of setting a direction to the show, but oh well….

Katanagatari 05

Yes…. apparently Togame is fan of being stepped upon. I guess she really is a ドM.
Somebody finally points out that she’s been using “Cheerio” wrongly….

Amazingly, none of the Maniwani peeps get killed in this episode. Then again half of them have been exterminated already so the count won’t match if this goes on, durr hurr hurr. They better pray they don’t run in to Nanami again.
And Shichika getting jealous was pretty cute.

At least their relationship is finally heading somewhere. Although he seems to be ignorant enough on the matters of getting seduced. I mean, Togame was totally coming on to him in the hot springs and he didn’t react at all! His form of “bullying” was pretty bad though, ha ha.
Overall, okay episode of Katanagatari but it was generally a slower-paced episode. Even the villain this month wasn’t really that inspired either. I am interested in the new character, Princess Hitei, who seems to have a pretty big grudge over Togame and is planning something for her. The temporary truce between Togame and Maniwani that was tempered in this episode also doesn’t seem to be lasting long either since the preview has them facing the whole bunch again. Oh well, we’ll see next month.

Evangelion 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance

Got to tip my hat off the sugoi-ness of Amazon.jp and DHL International Express, my Blu-Ray arrived right on the morning of May 26th even though I am like a whole hemisphere away from Japan!
Pretty much smaller than Evangelion 1.01. No idea how it compares to 1.11 since I didn’t buy it. After carefully cutting open the wrapping plastic, this is what it contains inside…

And finally… for the filmstrip. Of all the scenes… I had to get this…

Oh well, at least it’s better than getting Toji or Kensuke. But why is it out cropped and out of focus!?!! Faulty merchandise?! Can I make a returns claim!?
Goddamnit, I wanted Asuka!!!!!!
Oh. I am now officially broke with 50 ringgit left in the account.

Pactio Rally Chapter!

And Nagi makes an appearance?!

Maybe not, Ako is not amused

But she still likes it anyways

… wait? It’s only been two days?! This is a loooong filler training arc.

Despite that, the Pactio rally continues with Yuuna!

And after Yunna, it’s finally Makie’s turn for a snoggin’

Hurr durr, and that’s nearly all of them now! Who’s left? Akira only? Damn I forgot who are the current members of the party that haven’t been Pactio’d yet. Oh well…
Anyways, a pretty boring chapter in my opinion, probably because they packed in three Pactios and jumped around here and there between the three girls and the training. Felt rather disorganized if I may say so.
As for the Pactios, it looks like Ako and Makie’s Pactios are the same as the ones released on the character CD’s back in 2005(?), while Yuuna seems to be getting an original one. As for the abilities, we’ll see what they are later.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

… or so they say. Amusing. My blog never looked this Web-2.0-ish though! In deference to mikoto/fangzhao’s ballsy-ness, I guess I will follow suit, XD.
In other words, I am finally up on ABT’s. I was having too much fun with the ANB vs Tenchi fan drama to notice until Nova told me.
Makes me wonder, if I posted that Fate/Stay Night was the pinnacle of anime production and the best TYPE-MOON adaptation ever, will I get my own personal stalker for the next six years? Of course, this is hypothetical because there is no Fate/Stay Night anime, right guys?

Angel Beats! 08
…. they just bloody rehashed the Guild episode this week. And I was expecting something more interesting as the explanation for the multiple Tenshi’s.

Admittedly the Red Tenshi’s had a kick-ass attitude, literally. I wonder why Kanade programmed that skill to be so offensive… not to mention uncontrollable as well.

a meganekko Yurippe is fine too
Still laughing at how there is an instruction manual (in English too!) for Tenshi’s Angel Player software. I guess Tenshi wasn’t a Starcraft pro player, but a UMS designer instead. Not going to ask how Yurippe managed to edit the skills here and how did she figure out to chain them together using a timer skill.

It pains me to admit but I’d like to see that
Yui proved to be exceptionally entertaining this week, at the cost of her character’s future reputation. I can already foresee the boatloads of omorashi doujins in this year’s Summer Comiket focusing on her. With any luck, there will hopefully be a few good ones that incorporate the live performances too.

And Yurippe’s starting to exhibit a little yandere tendencies as well….
And damn the cliffhanger ending this week again, 3 episodes in a row innit? Hopefully Kanade will be alright. If you ask me, only one clone was actually badly injured by Yurippe, so I don’t know how Kanade will be psychologically damaged by it. Also, it’s not like everyone else can die *shrug*
Maybe they’ll all fuse the aggressiveness and then Tenshi will turn from deadpan to badass deadpan again!

K-ON!! 07

Girl meets girl

LOL, the previous student council president is the founder of the Mio’s fanclub. I fucking lol’ed.
Too bad she had to graduate after them, but not after pushing her job to Nodoka as her successor for both posts. Well, at least Nodoka isn’t going to stalk Mio… right?
Still being the serious person that she is, Nodoka decides to hold something as the fan club president, which results in the band holding a special tea party. Hilarity ensues as Mio tries not to collapse from all the attention.

“Congratulations Mrs and Mrs Akiyama! You may now cut the cake!”

Mio’s gonna pull a Marilyn Monroe ;_;
Pretty fun watching her deal with both her band members AND the fans together. I lol’ed at the Q&A corner when she answered “shower head”.
Generally, another decent episode of K-ON!! I noticed they seem to fare better if they do original story than trying to adapt from the manga. With last week’s rain episode and this week’s one, there’s no feeling of them trying to fill up time forcefully by making the characters do pointless gags.
A new insert song, Pure-Pure Heart, finally appears after 7 episodes. Thankfully, despite the sickeningly sweet name, it’s a rather decent song, if I may say so. Mio’s poetic skills are pretty bad though ^^
Next episode looks to be dealing with more serious issues than usual (deciding their future), and it looks like back to original source material again. Oh well….

“She gave her life for Aiur”
I guess I wasn’t the only one to notice how similar the Hand Sonic sound effects are to the Protoss warping sounds.
Shin’s theory sounds pretty plausible, considering all the crazy shit that’s been going around in Angel Beats! so far. This is a show where anything and nothing, can and will happen anyways.
