K-ON 08-09: Azusa Cry’in
Alright checking out the fresh meat new recruits…
Well to get back on track it seems that the recruitment drive for K-ON went pretty well since most musical bands have now nominated aspirants seeking to throw themselves upon their mercy in the vain hope that they may deem them worthy to join their ranks. Those who play bubble gum pop still cling to their own processes by which perhaps one in a hundred neophytes may survive to become a band member. The methods Sawa-chan has developed over the last few weeks are far more stringent, for K-ON must be pure in their musical mastery and hard of heart, body and soul. Fewer than one in every thousand survive, and I do believe Sawa-chan strives each day to lengthen these odds still further…thus leaving us with one aspirant, Azusa. I was rather disappointed that the concerts were not as godly as I had hoped but granted that Sawa-chan’s motivational speech was not even close to Patton’s to his Third Army and given that K-ON 2.0 is still getting the hang of things I suppose it’s too much to ask for them to start giving us Macross class concerts. Still with interesting songs like “Light and Fluffy Time”, “Curry after Rice”, “My Love is a Stapler”, and “Brush and Ballpoint Pen” I sense that Mio may have some song writing talent of worth as some are in the tradition of the Kyun Kyun tradition. Despite Sawa-chan’s initial miss I suppose the maid thing was dead on and I HIGHLY approve of Sawa-chan scoping out Ui’s size. Now that the classes have been formed I think that Mio’s initial lonliness and her coming on to Nodoka clearly indicate how broken Ritsu has made Mio, at the very least we know Nodoka can give Mio the tender love and care that she so desperately needs since Ritsu seems willing to latch on to just about any one. Even if Ritsu isn’t the smartest of the bunch I think she has a waide variety of skills, from finding a new victim super friend in Mugi-chan, to supplicating herself to Nodoka when the latter made a PRESIDENTIAL ORDER to get Ritsu to submit the proper paper work. Ritsu even came up with the idea to capture Ui, though in the end since it had been come years since she last played Pokemon, Ritsu did capture Azusa, by leaping lovingly upon her. Such was Ritsu’s caress that there would be no escape for our new twin tailed aspirant. Sadly Mio is still shy as ever though at least now Mugi-chan seems to picking up on the bully Mio past time that Ritsu started. Still I wonder when Mio will figure out that in the case of Yui that she can toss shiny things onto the floor as a defensive and evasive maneuver in addition to a barrel roll. I do like how Yui was honest about her castanet gambit, should have gone with a cowbell though.
Hell yeah threesome in 2-2!
Azusa certainly went through a trial by fire of sort and I did enjoy the heaps of abuse that the 2-2 clique dished out. In fact I am quite tempted to declare Azu-nyan Mini-Mio simply because she is a stand in for all the attention that was once Mio’s. I suppose that in the end the yuri is so strong that other bands can’t compete. Still this aversion to traditional K-ON ritual is utterly abhorrent in the extreme, clearly Azu-nyan is not cut out for the life of a seadog, hell she wouldn’t survive band camp if this flaw remains uncorrected. I do hope for Azu-nayn’s sake that she will be less adverse to the mysterious ways and rituals of the yuri when camp starts. The longer this goes on I suspect that the 2-2 clique is starting to pick up on each others habit, laziness being one of the big ones. Since Ritsu was reaching for the blackmail card early and eagerly I think Ritsu is starting to get ridiculously good at holding things together through fair means or foul. I think that it was Rommel who once said that the lazy and the smart are fit for the highest command, if so I think Ritsu is starting to show a great deal of cunning in addition to judicious amounts of laziness. Other than death I suspect that there is no escaping from her grasp. I was looking forward to Sawa-chan’s cosplay party, but I think it’s fair to say we were all cheated out of seeing the whole thing. Still now that Azu-nyan has been drafted I think good times are inbound.
Nevertheless do come over to “play”…
But trust me comrade they certainly know who you are…
I approve of Nodoka coming to Mio’s rescue.
Why yes Nodoka will marry you…
All that matters is that Mugi-chan is rip roaring and ready to do this…
I guess there are instances where Yui actually excells…
I like where this is going…
I see why that one washed out…lack of enthusiasm.
Please note your consent is not required…
Next time I expect a better duet, preferably a more intimate one…
I like how Ritsu thinks.
A twin-tails has a appeared…
Screw pokeballs, fully body contact capture, ALL THE WAY.
Couple more questions. What is the capital of Assyria? What is your favorite color? What are your three sizes?
Ah the old Yui toss.
All your base belong to Ritsu…
I approve of this cross training.
Holy shit that’s my standard tea.
I see Mugi-chan is savoring this moment of affection.
I share Mugi-chan’s horror at this suggestion of putting an end to tea time.
She came from behind…
AND HOW!
Oh that was sneaky Mugi-chan…keep it up.
Alright chow time!
Sawa-chan will not take NO for an answer.
There are plenty more as befits this renowned club…
I wanted a close up of that…
How good was it really?
…
Once you join the Yuri side…forever will it rule your destiny.
Now try the maid outfit…
Sorry Mio it seems that Ritsu is smarter than you give her credit…
Cosplay, cosplay, cosplay party…
Next time Sawa-chan pull off her shirt with more enthusiasm…
Maybe you should change to coffee then?
Who needs a boyfriend? This is a cosplay opportunity…
I see someone feels a bit inadequate…
Negima! 252

Yes, it’s the much awaited Secchan x Konoka chapter that KonoSetsu fans have been waiting for.

Ahahah~ Secchan’s insecurities about herself can be pretty nice comic relief at times.

Meanwhile, on Negi’s side, they have to deal with that slimeball character that is the Governor-General of Ostia.

… and he somewhat confirms a fact that nearly everyone reading the series has been speculating about. So my guess about Asuna being either Negi’s mother or aunt is pretty much true now. Looks like Negi will have to call Asuna “obaa-san” now, ROFL ROFL ROFL.
But wow, Arika was known as the “Queen of Calamity”? No wonder the Ala-Rubra people kept their mouths shut.

Back to KonoSetsu… Secchan is still being troubled by her insecurities…. but uh-oh… Konoka’s in trouble.

…but no worries, Secchan is on the case!

And finally the climax of the chapter, the Pactio between Konoka and Setsuna.

Man… that was a really long kiss. These two really need to get a room. But now we have a new Pactio card and it’s surprisingly not from Negi.
It’s being speculated that the Artifact might be different, but since Albireo has once mentioned that a person’s Artifact remains the same no matter the Magister, we’ll see if Secchan will keep her Shishikuro with her new Pactio or have another new one. Even the art on the card is different so there is a real possibility we might see a new Artifact.

The Scout Tower

God… that must count as one of the most LOL’est things I’ve done in TF2 so far.
We actually got the tower to 7 people later but didn’t got a SS of it. 5 scouts, and 2 soldiers on top of each other was pretty hillarious LOL.

K-ON! 08

Mio is lonely.

In her new class, all by herself.

But a savior arrives in the form of Nodoka.

LOL Kigurumi. Sawa-chan’s fashion sense is so weird sometimes.

Moe Meido Moe makes another appearance.

I wouldn’t have minded seeing Ui in a meido-fuku.

Azu-nyan Azusa appears! Shin will be extremely pleased!

Yes. Very rape-able.

Asura Cryin’ 05

I don’t really get this arc yet, but I’m pretty much satisfied with moe-moe housewife Syuri “Yukari” mode.
Also, LOL at missile-spam, Macross-style at the end.

Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody

Rejoice Haruhiists! The moment you’ve been waiting for three years has finally come! It’s a new episode of Haruhi!
Okay that’s enough of her. Now we continue to the awsm part of the episode, more Mikuru!!!

Kawaii…

Ah! Kawaii!

Oh wow oh wow oh wow. Adult Mikuru!

Oh god, kawaii!

Sexy, cute and fucking awesome.

Oh dear god.. kawaii!

And for the Nagato fans. Damn, the part where she takes off her glasses after synchronizing with her 3-years later self.

Yay! Let’s sleep together for three years, Mikuru.
Impressions:
- Art looks more “chibi” than 2006. I guess animating all the Key and the 4-koma series has certainly made KyoAni more towards to that style. Kyon looks rather younger while Haruhi does look more… chubbier.
- I’m glad Mikuru is still Mikuru.
- Not a bad job for three years time. Now to hope they actually have done enough episodes to fill up one cour. Elsewise….. orz
- Seriously, wtf is Kadokawa and KyoAni’s PR department doing with Haruhi. Oh well….

Kei is so fucking tsundere
No really. She is… ROFL. It’s kinda…. how do I put this…. painful to watch her as she continually denies her feelings for Kusuda yet continually thinks about him, ahahaha.
Really, those two need to get a room already. I know the “initially antagonistic but finally fall in love” setup is very popular, but this is almost reaching to the point of overdoing the antagonism between those two. It’s so kinda blatant that we already know both of them are probably gonna be in for a looooooooong life together.
Anyways, more Kei fanservice is awesome too….

I find it LOL every time she does that, her sister walks in on her. That said, when are they gonna talk about Kei’s onee-san? Hell, she looks more imouto than oneesan.

Negima! 251

Yue is finally discovered! Which means they are so gonna be in for a shock later! Woo hoo!

Of course, the crowd that Yuecchi’s been hanging out with aren’t just any normal people, but the Ariadne Knight cadets that of course take their “justice” seriously.

Whoa, smooth moves there, Negi. Damn he’s really racking up the style points lately, isn’t he?

But of course, what is Negima without some fanservice. Damn, it’s sure been a LOOOOOOOOOONG while since we last saw Flans Exarmatio.

While she might not remember exactly who she is, it seems Yuecchi’s body remembers veeeeeery well who she likes.

And a new antagonist is thrown in to the mix. He sure looks as shifty as they can get. He’s possibly very well connected to Cosmo Entelachia or probably is one of Fate’s own lackeys.

Meanwhile, Secchan and Konoka enjoy a date out. Gawd, it’s kinda criminal how cute Secchan can be when she starts worrying about this and that. And Tsukuyomi is pretty fucking crazy anyways.
And finally…

OMG OMG OMG OMG ARE THEY GONNA ANIMATE THE RAKAN FLASHBACK TOO?!!! OMG OMG OMG!
I am so gonna LOL is Arika-hime is getting voiced by Yukana. Also I hope to see that as a cover for the manga. That is one awesome colored illustration by Akamatsu there.

The Jealousy Yakitate Japan

Hayate! Maria! :O!!!!!!!

Hayate is so daring!

Oh lol, the plant makes an appearance! GJ, J.C. Staff!

Seriously, Hayate has no sense of timing or reading the situation.

Yes, I quite agree that Ayumu can be pretty darn cute sometimes.
I’ve never really mentioned this so far, but I’m quite glad the production team this season is a taking a leaf out of Hata’s book and naming the episodes based on his chapter titles. Hayate chapter titles are pretty darn awesome if you get the wordplay and jokes Hata puts in them. In fact it’s one of the early selling points of the series.
So yeah, this episode we finally reach Shiranui’s appearance. For Hina x Hayate and Ayumu x Hayate shippers, this is actually one of the biggest milestones of the romance development in the manga, and I’m glad they didn’t bungle it up. Of course the whole romantic angle of the series gets more complicated from here on, especially when the Hinamatsuri arc plays in later.
Ah… it’s actually getting really hard to choose between Ayumu and Hinagiku sometimes… especially if they continue to do chapters like “More dream-like than a dream” in the manga.
